Educational Programs

One of the mandates of the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario is to provide educational opportunities and workshops for those who are concerned with the preservation of our architectural heritage. Some events are listed below:

Ask an Expert Series:

The second in our Ask an Expert Series will be held at the Living Green Fair, Saturday, May 5, 2007, at the Port Hope Town Park, Fall Fair Building, 69 McCaul Street, Port Hope.

Peter John Stokes, Port Hope resident and renowned restoration architect, will offer free consultation regarding architectural restoration techniques to the public from 10am to 4pm.

Other local restoration craftsmen participating will include Ed Pamenter, who will demonstrate window restoration techniques and Carl Ross, Ganaraska Riverwho will consult on brickwork and other masonry techniques.

Ed will bring two windows—one unrestored and the other with six panes in various stages of
reputtying. He will be on hand from 10am until 1pm. Carl will present his video of current and past work from 1pm to 4pm.
