To the Membership of the ACO Port Hope Branch

At the 2010 AGM it was agreed that the Board would establish an ad hoc Governance Committee – comprised of representatives of Past Presidents and the Board – to review and recommend Governance Procedures for use by our Branch of the ACO.

I now advise that after much work by the Committee (Trish Doney, Bob Harrison, Ed Pameter, Sue Stickley and Charles Wickett) and those before them, this task has been completed and the resultant documentation has been adopted by the Board.

All aspects of the Procedures – with the exception of limitation on Tenure - were already in place or are now being implemented. The Governance Committee and the Board agree that a transition period of three to five years for full implementation of the “Tenure requirements” is required so as to ensure sound succession and a sound Board.

I am pleased to provide these Procedures for your review and information.
